Climate action -Through the consciousness of love
Consciousness of love
Consciousness of love means the state of awareness in which one chooses to intentionally step out of ego and operate with love. Operating with love consciousness is a feeling of compassion, kindness, and connection towards oneself and others.
“Infused with the consciousness of love, there is no limit to what we can create together”
-Harold W Becker
Emotions with climate change
Climate change is one of the most daunting issues facing the human kind. It is constantly dealt with by feelings of shame, guilt and fear. Shaming on organizations that aim to create wealth through fossil fuel burning and deforestation, guilt-driven action towards climate change and fear on what the future holds given the effects of climate change causing more frequent and intense heat waves, droughts, floods, storms, and sea level rise. Climate change also has a range of impacts on the environment, economy, and human health, including food and water security, biodiversity loss, and increased risk of natural disasters causing more eco-anxiety to a generation of people working on solving the problem.
“ A study published by The Lancet found that 84% of children and young adults ages 16 to 25 are at least moderately worried about climate change, and 59% are very or extremely worried”
Yes, destroying the planet’s resources is not sustainable and we must advocate for sustainable development. Operating from anger, guilt, fear and shame are the voices of ego that are negative anchors. Most of the articles, advocates and voices for taking climate action have been resonating these emotions which makes people operate at a lower level of consciousness which is neither effective in addressing solutions for the issues.
Climate action through consciousness of love
Changing this perspective and looking through the awareness of love could be vital in taking affirmative climate action. Operating from the consciousness of love could help us to see that the world is complete and wholesome, we don’t have to add or remove anything. Let the world exist as it is, let’s step back from our sense of judgment on what is good and bad. This will help us to step out of our ego and let the consciousness operate with a sense of love. One really tries to fix things that one truly loves, replacing guilt and other negative emotions with joy & love for helping the planet restore its ecosystem & reducing carbon emissions makes it healthy and affirmative.
The greed to create more wealth sometimes pushes humans to act out of our true consciousness, our ego hijacks our awareness and most organizations operate with this sense of ego at their core. Using other voices of ego to fight this would only cause more repulsion and friction. The best way to fight ego would be through selflessness, through the divine consciousness. The consciousness of love that is already inherent as our natural emotion. Removing these layers of ego of these organizations through the voices of love & affirmation would go a long way in taking positive climate action. You can never fight ego with ego and win, ego could only be conquered with love.
What a voice of ego would say,
“You are polluting the planet, you are bad business..” Using guilt as a strong emotion to drive action
Replacing it with a voice of love would say,
“You are passionate in what you do, you want to create prosperity using the planet’s resources. Make your business sustainable keeping the planet’s prosperity and sustainability” Letting compassion as an emotion to drive action.
What a voice of ego would say,
“All natural resources that support life on earth are being depleted and there is no way they can be replaced, shortages are increasing everywhere” Using fear as an emotion
“The world has enough for everyone, the planet will restore its resources. Let’s work by creating holistic opportunities and solutions that can be immediately useful for others” Stemming from a sense of abundance
Changing the narrative and the vocabulary could place the best possible bet in instilling positive climate action.
